Emily Jashinsky is a Washington Examiner opinion writer. She formerly worked as a spokesperson for the Young America’s Foundation. She attended The George Washington University (GW) and majored in political science and creative writing. Emily was the president of the school’s Young America’s Foundation AF chapter for two years during her stay at George Washington.
The chapter has earned national media notice on several occasions for supporting conservative beliefs. After the GW Student Association sought to impose sensitivity training in the spring of 2015, the GW YAF successfully defended all students’ free expression rights. Liberal student organisations instantly labelled the chapter a “hate group” and requested that YAF’s funding be revoked. The fight for free expression by GW YAF drew the attention of prominent media sites including as Fox News, Breitbart, and the Washington Times.

Emily Jashinsky was born in Delafield, Wisconsin on March 29, 1993. Troy Jashinsky is her only sibling. She was the daughter of Trina and Dan Jashinsky. Trina, her mother, resigned from a lengthy career in human resources for a construction technology and solutions company in 2020. Dan Jashinsky, her father, is vice president of the Greater Delafield Community Fund board. Troy Jashinsky, Emily’s brother, is presently located in Milwaukee. In April, he started working at Johnson Controls as a product management analyst.
